A healthy support system is vital to all families , especially those in need of extra love and support like foster families. Fostering takes a village, and compassion and generosity makes an enormous impact on the lives of those served. Finding, building and maintaining your support network is essential for creating a strong foundation as a foster parent. FAPA of NKY has been serving the foster/adoptive families of Northern Kentucky since 2016. Founded by Kate Morgan and Amy Carder, FAPA of NKY provides support, training, recreation, and fellowship opportunities for our local KY DCBS foster/adoptive families.
Kate and Amy met while working together on the local KY Foster & Adoptive Parent Training Support Network in 2015. They were frustrated by the lack of networking opportunities and events that offered an opening to connect with other foster/adoptive families. They quickly began brainstorming about how they could provide and fund these opportunities. Thus, FAPA of NKY was created.
