We absolutely love the events. Not only does it allow my kids to be around kids that are "like them" as my oldest would say, but it allows us to do things as a family that we might not be able to do otherwise because of the financial expense as a family of 9.

Living in a diverse family, our kids enjoy being around other diverse families. Playing with other kids who have experienced similar things gives our children a sense of belonging.

FAPA of NKY provides us with opportunities for our families to engage with each other. I have also made so many connections with other foster and adoptive families. I don't feel alone anymore in this journey. I even have a few friends I consider now best friends because of this amazing resource.

Foster parenting often feels like you're on an island. Attending events where there are other people that understand your chaos and do not judge it is vital to feeling supported in this journey. The kids also get to see other people in similar situations so they don't feel all that different after all. There are so many opportunities to volunteer in whatever ways you can, which is also helpful.

FAPA of NKY has been great for hosting events to allow the foster community to fellowship! Our baby loved the play date at We Rock the Spectrum NKY. We had no idea the place even existed, and have since gone back another time with family friends from out of town! Our little one also loved the Christmas party at 7 Hills, it was such a sweet day! Thank you for loving on the kiddos and us families, we're grateful for FAPA!

FAPA of NKY serves so many purposes whether you're new to fostering or if your family has fostered for years. My kids love all of the events that are planned throughout the year. The effort and care from the FAPA of NKY team in planning each activity is always very much appreciated by my little family. I especially love all of the in person trainings that allow me to network and discuss shared experiences in a safe space with other like minded people. FAPA of NKY keeps me connected to important resources, training, and people that make it possible for me to continue on in my fostering journey.

FAPA of NKY has provided our family a community where we are welcomed, understood, and celebrated! We appreciate that all of our children are welcome and distinctions are not made. That is incredibly special!

We’ve attended many FAPA of NKY events, nothing beats them! Our little family has always felt incredibly welcomed and supported since day one with our first placement. These events have given us time to meet with newly found friends who have similar crazy life experiences as us.
I’ve had numerous individual reach out to me and ask about fostering and I always say “our area has the best support system” and that is mainly because of FAPA
